Here's to trying something new!

It's good to try new things, right? Well, I'm trying something new. I take all these photographs and, other than posting some here on my website or on Instagram (@kalyhpr), they just sit on a storage drive doing nothing. Sure, I've printed a few on canvas to hang in my office. I've printed and framed a few for myself and family. I've made a couple calendars, some cards and a few magnets. But I haven't done anything productive (in other words, tried to make money) with them. I carry a camera with me (a DSLR) every time we go anywhere. I've been doing it for years. That's a lot of photos!

I don't have the equipment to print my own stuff so, a couple weeks ago, I started looking into online Print-On-Demand options. From the name, you may have guessed, Print-On-Demand sites are sites where printing is done in small quantities based on the order. You upload your design, apply it to products such as t-shirts, mugs, tote bags, cell phone cases, and post it for sale in your 'store'. Purchases are fulfilled by the POD company and you receive a royalty percentage (which you set) from each sale.

I had recently heard about someone I know selling her designs on t-shirts on Redbubble. After some poking around on the RB site, I did some online searches to see what other Print-On-Demand options were out there. I found another site called Zazzle and decided to try that site as well.

Tomorrow (because it's getting late and I have work tomorrow), I'll post about my initial impressions of each site.
